Since I love drinking coffee, especially the irresistible aroma and the crema of espresso, so I decided to model one for myself :) <br />

Anyway, this is a trial short assignment to get the crema effect. It shall be included in the next stage of interior rendering assignment.<br />

<br />
<br />I use Wacom graphic tablet to draw on computer. I know my artworks are not that great compared to those featured in <a style="color: rgb(255, 153, 102);" href="http://www.deviantart.com/">deviantArt</a>, but I am learning and improving (provided I have time for myself due to office work).
<br />
<br />One of the first illustrations done using digital media:
<br />
<br /><div style="text-align: center;"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwVV0GravJsN9GOFY2N6XTjouxubRXd7SKM3iGDWyYCbpmHhMkgi6XSuZpkzVnGpOeiBukYbuDvnC7Z8cVyVhyxX0IOwzpZnfp_Z4-XkrDqtgiM93xKBY_Q0HmqdYJEeqiliBeYGAAww0/" width="550" />
<br /></div>
<br />Done with Photoshop, hard to create and control the desired brush stroke effect.
<br /><div style="text-align: center;"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEuxeBgZJvk80CIhyE_web2M7tB2tKybAuAzOZk8qXlmw9ICeZq8Dhfe2czx9LoV-JHL9_5Adf6RsgqeiJZASt5wJBL3dHsXPS1MJfNk_YljcXg83Gj2_qm9K1UqtS_skcIcIBfgFUt2w/" width="550" />
<br /></div>
<br />Done with the powerful painting software: Corel Painter which can simulate realistic brush effects
<br /><div style="text-align: center;"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjAtPEwZYt65OfeQlnMG3z2u_HWx8eh9QTxPI-7wtW_2wz_y0WojouY6ywh8ADvdRwJ_ObfXO1tbyMjJhC_de9pKdHVqjk6mEfkQFPbMwFFXVMSGzA63EMQVQ9D-6NFVwvWNB3dKkzVyrs/" width="550" />

<br />Latest artwork done this morning (it's my holiday).
<br /><div style="text-align: center;"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj4zn1pKb9tk2WZFZ9kxA7XcCILVL49GhqzYyqmnaND7t2I2jysYf9ABrwBSyyHW4A_v9NFjS48iYZb0zHQI44T81S_yyEt386YldUT4RaR72b-IvVx6voeQaAXPYq3GRqTkNPfCaiXr7U/" width="550" />
<br /></div>
<br />
<br />Among all the drawing softwares, Corel Painter is the best for drawing and painting. Photoshop is best for image editing.
<br />
<br />I use Corel Painting for drawing and Photoshop for post production.
<br />
<br />More works to come (again provided I have time for myself).若水http://www.blogger.com/profile/16907665885684495299noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1423315752600208174.post-48676328816995880432010-05-20T23:36:00.001+01:002012-07-11T01:51:38.305+01:00[Tutorial] Aesthetic Lamp<div style="text-align: center;">

This is a simple tutorial of making the aesthetic lamp shown in the previous post.<br />
I hope to share some of my new discoveries here.<br />
<br />
Firstly you need to download the Advanced Painter plugin.<br />
Click <a href="http://www.scriptspot.com/3ds-max/scripts/advanced-painter" style="color: #66ff99;">here</a> to download.<br />
<br />
Then kindly refer the following pictures:<br />

<br />
I hope this is helpful and comments welcome.<br />

Took me 3 days to learn, honestly, the user interface appears not much different from that of 3DS Max. If you understand VRay for 3DS Max, this shouldn't be too difficult to learn. Unfortunately, some of the work flow are not user friendly enough and I would rather turn to 3DS Max. I wish I can use IES lighting as there's only VRay light provided. And I also wish that the rendered view is not cropped from the seen view. Anyway, it's good to see photorealistic rendering from SketchUp.<br /></div>若水http://www.blogger.com/profile/16907665885684495299noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1423315752600208174.post-13921672719678569282009-03-27T11:19:00.000+00:002009-03-27T11:22:18.914+00:00Chinese New Year 2009 animation<object height="344" width="425"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/jJOtb_KhCJA&color1=0xb1b1b1&color2=0xcfcfcf&feature=player_embedded&fs=1"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/jJOtb_KhCJA&color1=0xb1b1b1&color2=0xcfcfcf&feature=player_embedded&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" height="344" width="425"></embed></object><br /><br />This is the animation by 8TV in conjunction with Chinese New Year 2009. It's important to understand how Final Gather and Global Illumination work in mental ray in order to get the realistic results. The Arch & Design shader which is designed for mental ray is user friendly. The preset parameters are good enough to generate realistic results.<br /><br /><br /><p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiAn6IKIoaJpLGtijTeCAiHEVbZbHtc4mw3o_DKge5P5zEIad38SHNfEoWzp1HBb6zRkUNVSooESTT1ZvtJWTRhs-0EgBoh8xBP7Z-YZDVT19bMMRGPkycrejZ9uGyo89LEXUqei9Vjh_Cb/s1600-h/mr+interior+copy.jpg" target="blank"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5307640524577643122" style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; width: 400px; height: 240px; text-align: center;" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiAn6IKIoaJpLGtijTeCAiHEVbZbHtc4mw3o_DKge5P5zEIad38SHNfEoWzp1HBb6zRkUNVSooESTT1ZvtJWTRhs-0EgBoh8xBP7Z-YZDVT19bMMRGPkycrejZ9uGyo89LEXUqei9Vjh_Cb/s400/mr+interior+copy.jpg" border="0" /></a>After several attempt, I came up with this visual which was rendered with mental ray. Not bad tough but I would say that VRay offers a more straight forward solution once the basic concept is understood.<br /><br />The following visual was done with VRay. It has more realism compared with with the previous one. I believe with more practice, I will create better results with mental ray.<br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhCUGughhrPM9t1krcRVYuNFfgkySRXiGe4nH7D7AoxiBpSY8jyS8YePi_Y_Bie9c_wxBMoD1bovfU3Y5YIbIrffHIfviurMrEC7cC06FttORrLzLtPIiCc2GUKsPQ852mUyrcaqzz1_VIT/s1600-h/mr+interior-VRay+copy.jpg" target="blank"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5307973925828276418" style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; width: 400px; height: 240px; text-align: center;" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhCUGughhrPM9t1krcRVYuNFfgkySRXiGe4nH7D7AoxiBpSY8jyS8YePi_Y_Bie9c_wxBMoD1bovfU3Y5YIbIrffHIfviurMrEC7cC06FttORrLzLtPIiCc2GUKsPQ852mUyrcaqzz1_VIT/s400/mr+interior-VRay+copy.jpg" border="0" /></a> </p>若水http://www.blogger.com/profile/16907665885684495299noreply@blogger.com4
